As one of the nation’s largest senior housing providers we were prepared to assume management of a chain of eight assisted living communities located in Georgia and Alabama. The situation in Alabama, however, was extreme. A complex assisted living regulatory environment in combination with a community requiring immediate assistance, including removal of a suspension of admissions.
John White and Heather Freese of IGH Health Services were the answer. Their familiarity with the Alabama regulatory environment and outstanding relationship with licensing officials provided us an opportunity to gain the confidence of and develop a cooperative relationship with officials, in a State in which we had no previous experience.
More impressive was the work provided by IGH in essentially taking over compliance plan management of a community deemed inappropriate for admission of residents without improvement in virtually every area of operation. IGH embedded themselves into the community, identifying, addressing, and correcting all clinical service, staffing, programming, and operational issues, achieving removal of the suspension of admissions, and returning a viable and needed community to operational use.
In a crisis situation, requiring a complete organizational turnaround, in a complicated regulatory environment, IGH delivered. We could not have succeeded without them.
